Lack of macrophage autophagy leads to accumulation of the transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer binding protein beta (CEBPB), accumulation of CEBPB upregulates the expression of SOCS1 and SOCS3, and increased expression of SOCS1 and SOCS3 ameliorates AD by inhibiting M2 macrophage polarization (160). This evidence concerns the gene CEBPB and Alzheimer disease.
