CD4 and Crohn disease: At baseline, half of the Crohn’s disease-derived CD8 Tregs showed decreased Granzyme B and Helios when compared to the average of healthy donors (Figure 4A), and 5 out of 11 Crohn’s donors had increased CD4 T cells expressing the surface markers CXCR3, CD39, and CD161 (Figure 4A, right), which are co-expressed on pathogenic autoimmune CD4 T cells (28).
