There were no significant differences in the serum levels of parathyroid hormone, vitamin D, calcium, phosphorus, uric acid, albumin, ALP, C-reactive protein, type I procollagen amino-terminal peptide, and β-type I collagen carboxy-terminal peptide in osteopenia and osteoporosis groups, when compared with the normal group (P > 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene COL1A2 and osteoporosis.
