SLFN12 and triple-negative breast carcinoma: In investigating the regulation of SLFN expression in TNBC, Savannah R. Brown and colleagues conducted experiments (55) showing that the administration of IFN-α2 results in the upregulation of SLFN5, SLFN11, SLFN12, a homolog of SLFN12, SLFN13, and SLFN14 in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines, concurrently leading to a decrease in cellular proliferation.
