Some studies have found that PIK3CA gene mutations are associated with right-sided colon cancer (Salem et al., 2020; Ye et al., 2020), poorly differentiated cancer (Zeng et al., 2023), advanced pathological staging (Chen et al., 2022b), lymph node metastasis (Byun et al., 2023), metastasis (Mao et al., 2015), microsatellite stable (MSS) (Fu et al., 2021), mucinous adenocarcinoma (Li et al., 2021), and other clinical characteristics, suggesting that PIK3CA gene mutations may be related to the malignancy and progression of colorectal cancer. The gene discussed is PIK3CA; the disease is mucinous adenocarcinoma.
