INS and diabetes mellitus: It has been found that individuals and animals with diabetes exhibit elevated levels of α, β‐unsaturated aldehydes, and a considerable number of these aldehydes have the potential to impair insulin action, insulin signaling, insulin secretion of beta cells, and insulin‐induced glucose uptake in vitro and in vivo (Jaganjac et al., 2013; Lou et al., 2020; Pillon et al., 2012; Soulage et al., 2018).
