These results are partly consistent with a previous study showing that HF mice displayed similar expression levels of Cd36 and Npc1l1 compared to CTLs.[34] This study also showed a decreased expression of Scarb1 in HF mice[34] but this result conflicts with prior results showing an increase in Scarb1 expression – while other genes were not modulated – in mice under an HF diet.[35] These discrepancies may be due to difference in protocols between studies (diet composition, period of exposure, fasting duration, etc.). Here, SCARB1 is linked to hydrops fetalis.
