ACSS2 and acute myeloid leukemia: Notably, at least four (possibly all) of the six signature 3 genes overexpressed in human AML (VMP1, ACSS2, RAB37, and PLEKHA5) were directly or potentially related to cellular autophagy: besides the well-established role of VMP1 in generating autophagosomes, ACSS2 and RAB37 have also been reported as regulators of autophagy (Ropolo et al, 2007; Li et al, 2017; Sheng et al, 2018; Song et al, 2018; Wang et al, 2020).
