IC50 experiments showed that overexpression of MDM4 significantly decreased the sensitivity of HT29 and SW480 cells to the platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent cisplatin, increasing their IC50 from 8.12 and 10.19 μM to 17.46 and 12.95 μM, respectively, thereby greatly enhancing the resistance of colon cancer cells to cisplatin treatment (Figs. 1J and S1F). This evidence concerns the gene MDM4 and colonic neoplasm.
