Compared with children of mothers carrying the ALDH2*1/*1 genotype who did not drink alcohol during pregnancy, children of mothers carrying the ALDH2*1/*2 genotype who drank alcohol during pregnancy had a higher risk of developmental delay in communication (aOR, 11.54; 95% CI, 1.13–118.29), gross motor (aOR, 21.70; 95% CI, 3.30–142.70), fine motor (aOR, 9.27; 95% CI, 1.44–59.88), problem‐solving (aOR, 9.41; 95% CI, 1.46–60.52), and personal–social skills (aOR, 10.63; 95% CI, 1.03–110.28). Here, ALDH2 is linked to Global developmental delay.
