The covariatesage (OR=1.05; 95% CI: 1.05-1.06), nonwhite ethnicity (OR=1.68; 95% CI:1.56-1.81), history of AIDS diagnosis (OR=1.17; 95% CI: 1.08-1.28), recentHIV diagnosis (OR=5.47; 95% CI: 4.25-7.02), absence of antiretroviraltherapy (OR=1.70; 95% CI: 1.57-1.84), CD4+ < 200 (OR=6.41; 95% CI:5.09-8.08), detectable HIV viral load (OR=2.61; 95% CI: 2.21-3.05), ≥ 1comorbidity (OR=4.09; 95% CI: 3.79-4.41), and ≥ 4 symptoms were associatedwith increased severity. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and AIDS.
