Periostin is a biomarker for identifying atopic asthma in children, and it is indicative of Th2-induced airway inflammation.15, 16, 17 In the present study, periostin levels in the serum were significantly higher in asthmatic patients than in healthy controls and were significantly correlated with both the PB eosinophil and FeNO levels, which was consistent with the data of previous studies.15 Here, POSTN is linked to atopic asthma.
