While we have previously described that under homeostatic conditions CD14+ DCs induce proliferation of CD8+ T cells with tissue-resident memory phenotype (30), and proliferation of CD4+ T cells and double negative (DN) T cells (31), future studies are needed to determine how these cytokine profiles modify tissue environment, susceptibility to HIV infection, and modify T cell induction profile. The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is HIV infectious disease.
