As shown in Figure 2, several hypomethylated genes (Panel A) were involved in signaling pathways whose dysregulation is related to carcinogenesis and cancer proliferation (Insulin/IGF pathway–mitogen-activated protein kinase /MAP kinase cascade, PDGF signaling pathway, Ras Pathway), while others were involved in immune and inflammatory response (Interleukin signaling pathway, Histamine H2 receptor-mediated signaling pathway, T cell activation). Here, INS is linked to cancer.
