In line with this view, Meng et al. [26] showed in an experimental model of autoimmune uveitis and encephalomyelitis that NLRP3 inhibits the transcription of AIM2 by upregulating the phosphorylation of salt-inducible kinase (SIK) 1 and downregulating the expression of sterol regulatory element-binding transcription factor (SREBF)1. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and autoimmune uveitis.
