ZKSCAN3 enhances the EMT and metastatic potential of colorectal cancer (CRC) cells via the ITGβ4/FAK/AKT pathway [24], leading to increased expression of E-cadherin, a marker of epithelial identity, and decreased expression of mesenchymal markers like N-cadherin and vimentin, as well as cell migration markers MMP-2 and MMP-9 [24,43].
