Extension of this analysis to other diverse types of gene sets and pathways highlights genes associated with vision and eye disease (e.g., crystallin proteins, photoreceptors and transcription factors), antimicrobial peptides expressed in neutrophils and sperm cells (defense response), spermatogenesis, cytokine signaling and regulation by POU2F1, and nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) signaling, which are frequently associated with tumorigenesis.
