In unadjusted Cox regression models with an interaction term, elevated NT‐proBNP levels were associated with significantly increased risk of cancer mortality than those with normal NT‐proBNP in normal‐weight (HR = 3.71; 95%CI: 2.29, 5.99; p < 0.001) and in obese individuals (HR = 5.23; 95%CI = 3.56, 7.68; p < 0.001).
