Given the capacity of IgA to trigger NET formation and the significance of NETosis in COVID-19-associated coagulopathy (15), the present study hypothesized that the COVID-19 IgA glycosylation patterns differ from the glycosylation profiles of IgA isolated from the plasma of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) caused by Influenza A virus and that this partially explains high rates of NETosis in COVID-19. Here, CD79A is linked to COVID-19.
