After adjustment for matching factors, waist circumference, smoking status, physical activity, alcohol consumption, daily intake of vegetables, fruits, red and processed meat, fish, and fiber, the adjusted IRR (95% CI) per log2 increase in LCN2 concentrations was 1.16 (0.98–1.37) for CRC overall, 1.26 (1.00–1.59) for colon cancer, and 1.08 (0.85–1.38) for rectal cancer. This evidence concerns the gene LCN2 and rectal cancer.
