This analysis revealed that before the infection (t = 0), gene coding for Pattern Recognition Receptor (PRRs) (C-type lectins, C1q domain containing protein), innate immune pathways (toll-interleukin receptor (TIR), Complement pathway), interaction with bacteria (Bactericidal permeability-increasing protein) and antiviral pathways (RNA and DNA Helicases, RNA-dependent RNA polymerase) were found to be over-represented in microbial exposed oysters compared to control oysters (Fig. 7) (Supplementary File 6 List of DEGs).
