Among these, 25 metabolic processes were found to be deficient in both TB and NTM groups, including ascorbate and aldarate metabolism, biosynthesis of ansamycins, lysine biosynthesis, fatty acid biosynthesis, glycerophospholipid metabolism, lipoic acid metabolism, lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism, folate biosynthesis, peptidoglycan biosynthesis, ABC transporters, and purine metabolism (Supplementary Table S5, Figure 4A). The gene discussed is ABCG2; the disease is tuberculosis.
