The initial laboratory investigations revealed significant abnormalities. Complete blood counts indicated anemia with a hemoglobin (Hb) level of 10.9 g/dL, low red blood cells (RBCs) at 3.45 x 1012/L, thrombocytopenia with low platelets at 40 x 109/L, and an elevated total leukocyte count (TLC) at 14.8 x 109/L. C-reactive protein (CRP) was raised at 110 mg/L. Liver function tests were notably deranged, with total bilirubin at 154 μmol/L, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) at 236 U/L, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) at 3074 U/L, and albumin at 34 g/L. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and anemia (phenotype).
