In recognition of these host factors that do not fall within the definitions, for patients with compatible clinical features of invasive fungal disease in the ICU, decompensated liver cirrhosis, solid tumors, moderate/severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, uncontrolled HIV infection with a CD4 cell count <200/mm3, and recent influenza or COVID-19 diagnosis were included as host factors in the recent Invasive Fungal Diseases in Adult Patients in Intensive Care Unit (FUNDICU) consensus [25], similar to our patient profile in this study cohort.
