Next, we collected pathology specimens from eight patients with glioma and used RT-PCR to detect and compare the expression of CXCL8 in glioma tissues and paracancerous tissue specimens and found that the positive expression rate of CXCL8 mRNA was significantly higher in glioma tissues compared with paracancerous tissues (Fig. 2C), which indicated that the high expression of CXCL8 might be associated with poor prognosis.
