ALT was inversely associated (HR = 0.90; 95%CI: 0.85–0.95 per one SD increase) while GGT was positively associated (HR = 1.06; 95%CI: 1.00–1.11) with lung cancer risk in men, with similar associations but without nominal statistical significance in women (Fig. 1). The gene discussed is GPT; the disease is lung cancer.
