Other P2Rs, adenosine P1Rs, or ectoenzymes involved in the extracellular metabolism of ATP have been associated to the pathogenesis of different brain disorders, displaying both neurodegenerative actions, namely P2X7R, A2AR, and CD73 [59,62,64], and neuroprotective actions such as with P2Y2, P2Y4, P2Y12, and P2Y13 receptors (e.g., [63,65,131,132]). This evidence concerns the gene P2RY2 and brain disorder.
