NKRs have been implicated in eye disorders (3), chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting through approved NK1R antagonists, treatment of anxiety disorders and asthma (4, 5, 6) through NK2R antagonists, target for conditions such as schizophrenia, hypertension, reproductive disorders, and preeclampsia via NK3R (7), and treatment of obesity and obesity-related issues through several of the NKRs (8, 9, 10, 11, 12). The gene discussed is TACR3; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
