To achieve CM-specific overexpression of FMO2, rats were injected with the AAV9-cTnT vector encoding the rat FMO2 gene (AAV9-FMO2, a total of 4 × 1012 viral particles per rat) or a negative control AAV9-luciferase 2 (AAV9-Con) and subjected to MI surgery 4 weeks later. Here, FMO2 is linked to myocardial infarction.
