We found an interesting observation that both diabetes and treatment with different compounds led to a decrease in Ki67 content by different extent compared to the control rats: by 38.8% in the T2DM rats, by 42.7% in the metformin group, by 93.7% in the PA group, and by 89.5% in the metformin + PA group, suggesting that PA almost fully inhibited the proliferation in the small intestine (Figures 3C, D). The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
