Considering hypoxia and its role on angiogenesis in endometriosis pathology along with its decisive influence on cancer progression, angiogenesis is favoured by the strong expression of Vegfa despite the overexpression of Pten. Although Pten is strongly induced, the restrictive effect on Trp53 appears to be counteracted by the high expression of Mdm2, the main inhibitor of Trp53 action at protein level. This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and cancer.
