Here, the increased frequency of cTfh2 (CXCR3-CCR6-) cells in acute vivax malaria might be induced by IL-4-producing T helper 2 (Th2) cells, as they have been shown to function in Tfh2 cell differentiation in other infection models [14,21,30]. The gene discussed is CXCR3; the disease is Plasmodium vivax malaria.
