Epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a dynamic process in which epithelial cells lose their cell polarity and cell–cell adhesion and convert into the mesenchymal type [20] Recently, accumulating evidence has indicated that EMT is involved in cancer cell metastasis and drug resistance in numerous cancers, in which numerous molecules, such as E‐cadherin, N‐cadherin, vimentin, twist 1/2, snail 1/2, and ZEB 1/2, could participate [21, 22, 23].
