Dividing CLL cells based on CD38 and CD43 expression (CD38−/CD43lo, CD38+/CD43lo, CD38+/CD43hi) showed the combination of CD38+/CD43hi associated with enhanced proliferation, galectin-1 expression, and CD45 activity in CLL (Figure 2B).
