VEGF has been shown to play a significant role in neovascularization, tumor growth, and genesis of edema in meningiomas.12 Bevacizumab acts by inhibiting the vascular endothelial growth rate, which is directly correlated with enhancement.9 Accordingly, in our study, bevacizumab had a significant effect on the enhancement of the lesions and changed their characteristics, as indicated by the increase in the number of lesions that became necrotic during treatment. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and meningioma.
