IL6 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Eitetsu Koh et al. found that IL-6 levels in tumor tissuesand preoperative serum correlated with cancer staging and prognosis, normalizing postsurgery.15 Various studiesindicate that IL-6 levels directly affect NSCLC prognosis, with higherlevels associated with poorer performance status and progressive disease.16,17 Levels of IL-6 can promote tumor growth, survival, and metastasisas well as suppress antitumor immune responses.
