The Meta analysis results showed that, except for the results of WBC (WMD = 0.68, P = 0.59) and TNF-α (WMD = -11.03, P = 0.46), the perioperative inflammatory indexes [including CRP(WMD = -1.51, P = 0.04), IL-1β (WMD = -26.34, P = 0.0005), IL-6 (WMD =- 5.38, P < 0.00001)] of gastric cancer patients treated with enteral nutrition with ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid preparations during surgery were better than those of conventional EN preparations, and the difference was statistically significant, as shown in Table 5. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and gastric cancer.
