STING agonists induced a narrowing of the airways with severe infiltration of inflammatory cells in the peribronchial area, epithelial injury, bronchiolitis, alveolitis and decreased goblet cells hyperplasia and production of mucus together with a decrease in Muc5ac transcripts in the lung compared to HDM‐challenged mice (Figure 1L–P), while TLR3 agonist caused no major changes (Figure 1L–O). This evidence concerns the gene STING1 and bronchiolitis.
