LIF is an anti-inflammatory cytokine known for its affinity to the gp130/LIFR complex.[42] It plays a critical role in moderating inflammation, primarily by fostering Treg differentiation while concurrently inhibiting Th17 cell differentiation.[43] Studies have demonstrated LIF’s capacity to attenuate the progression of atherosclerosis, a finding that aligns with our research.[44,45] This underscores the potential of LIF as a therapeutic target in the treatment and management of atherosclerosis-related diseases, including CHD.
