ALB and rheumatoid arthritis: Second, ALB exchange between plasma and synovial fluid exists in RA and is in dynamic equilibrium.[40] Synovial permeability is increased in patients with RA, e.g., 6-fold ALB permeability and approximately 40-fold increase in giant GLB in the knee.[41] Labeling of ALB by radioactive technetium-99m labeling revealed that RA disease synovitis showed traces of ALB in arthrography,[42] demonstrating the transfer of serum ALB into the joints.
