The abnormal physiological concentration of serum inflammatory factors can induce PSF by disrupting metabolism and interfering with the synthesis and release of neurotransmitters.[30] Relevant studies have shown significant differences in serum CRP and Hcy levels between patients with PSF and those with NPSF.[14,31] Wang et al[32] found that elevated serum CRP and Hcy levels were risk factors of PSF in elderly patients with cerebral infarction, which was consistent with the results of this study. Here, CRP is linked to cerebral infarction.
