Consistently, both E2F2 mRNA and protein levels were significantly decreased in hepatic macrophages (Figure 1M,N and Figure S1A,B, Supporting Information) from dietary‐induced MASH mouse models compared with those fed with normal chow but not in other kinds of cells, including HSCs, ductular cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes (Figure S1C, Supporting Information) and neutrophils (Figure S1D, Supporting Information). This evidence concerns the gene E2F2 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
