Obesity and overweight are known as a low-grade pro-inflammatory chronic state. Lower gut microbial diversity was associated with higher white blood cell counts and hsCRP levels. The abundance of Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium, Ruminococcus and Prevotella were inversely related to different markers of low-grade inflammation such as hsCRP and IL-6. Here, IL6 is linked to obesity disorder.
