MAPT and dementia: The CAIDE dementia risk score has been previously tested in observational studies in relation to various cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and neuroimaging markers, and post-mortem brain pathology [22], and higher scores correlate with signs of neurodegeneration such as reduced cortical thickness, increased medial temporal atrophy, white matter lesions, reduced brain perfusion, increased neuroinflammation, and changes in CSF Aβ and total tau [23–27].
