Among the most over-represented proteins in the WCLs of carcinoma cell lines, proteins associated with actin cytoskeleton-rearrangement (TPM4, MYLK, PTK2B) as well as cell adhesion and migration (MDK, EPCAM) were detected (Additional file 2), thus indicating increased migratory and adhesion activity in the carcinoma cell lines. This evidence concerns the gene MYLK and carcinoma.
