In lung and bladder cancers, ALKBH3 knockdown results in the induction of senescence and cell cycle arrest, by increasing the expression of cell-cycle arrest proteins p27 and p21 and modulating NADPH oxidase and TWEAK/Fn14 signaling with induced vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) expression [45,46].
