In conclusion, although PCT, CRP, and leukocyte levels measured at the time of admission were not significantly associated with 1-month mortality in patients with pneumosepsis or pneumonia-related septic shock, the persistent elevation of these values, male gender, advanced age, low BMI, and high scores on the CCIS, CURB-65, and APACHE-II were significantly associated with 3-month mortality. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
