A recent study by Sun and colleagues [106] reproducing an ELS rat model of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using a maternal separation (MS) protocol and a subsequent single prolonged stress (SPS) procedure examined H3K9 acetylation (H3K9ac), HDAC2, and BDNF levels in the hippocampus. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and post-traumatic stress disorder.
