Specifically for CRC, the somatic mutations of gene BRAF, KRAS, NRAS and PIK3CA are currently being used as routine diagnostic molecular biomarkers to anticipate responses to anti-cancer treatments such as EGFR inhibitor drugs (good response with wildtype BRAF, KRAS and NRAS) and postoperative aspirin therapy (good response in mutation of PIK3CA) [27,28]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
