In humans, GLP-1 RA reduced left ventricular mass and improved cardiac geometry in patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy or hypertension [57]; these effects are particularly significant considering that hypertrophy and increased wall thickness are common in patients with metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) [23,31,57]. The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is heart failure.
